Stevens Men, Nazareth Women Lead Following Day Two of E8 Swimming & Diving Championships

THURSDAY'S RESULTS

Top Three Women's Programs Separated by Just 27 Points Following Thursday's Action

The Stevens' men's team had another outstanding night to provide separation on the men's side, while Nazareth, Hartwick, and Stevens all had key performances to put themselves in position to take home the women's title as Day Two of the 2019 Empire 8 Conference Swimming & Diving Championship took place in Webster, N.Y.

CLOSER LOOK
Stevens' Tyler Zanki, pictured, posted an impressive perormance in the 200-yard individual medley, winning the event in a time of 1:54.68. The Ducks also took gold in the 400-yard medley relay, winning the event by nearly four seconds. 

In women's action, Hartwick and Stevens each posted a pair of wins, but it might have been Nazareth's Taylor Robey that recorded the most impressive performance of the night. Robey posted an NCAA 'B' cut time of 23.69 in the finals of the 50-yard freestyle. Hartwick narrowly edged out Stevens in a thrilling edition of the 400 yard medley relay, as the Hawks touched the wall just .29 seconds agead of the Ducks.

Heading into Friday's action, the defending champion Stevens men are in good shape but the Nazareth men are still in the hunt. While on the women's side, it's a three-program race that still is very much in the balance. Friday's preliminary action begins at 10 a.m. with the finals scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.
