Lehman Earns First Team All-American Honors for Second-Straight Year

A pair of Stevens men's volleyball players earned All-America recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association it was announced earlier this week. David Lehman and Jack Bittker both earned recogntion, with Lehman earning First Team accolades and Bittker tabbed an honorable mention selection. Stevens, which has advanced to the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Final Four will take on UC-Santa Cruz in one national semifinal match Friday night in New Jersey.

Lehman, who was named the UVC Player of the Year this season, earned First Team honors for the second year in a row. It marked the third career accolade for the Oakland, California native by the AVCA as he earned Second Team All-America at the conclusion of his first year as a member of the Ducks as well. 

The junior currently averages 4.36 points per set and ranks eighth in Division III with 3.95 kills per set. Lehman has recorded double-digit kills in 22 matches, including the last 13-straight contests. Earlier this season, Lehman collected his 1,000th-kill in the UVC Semifinal match against NYU. He's currently averaging 1.11 digs and 0.66 blocks per set for the Ducks. 

Bittker earns his first AVCA honor following an impressive sophomore campaign. The Penfield, New York native is second on the team in both kills and digs per set, averaging 2.86 and 1.58, respectively. The sophomore collected double-digit kills in 14 matches and registered his first career double-double of 12 kills and 12 digs against No. 12 Elms on March 30. Bittker helped lead Stevens past Wells in the NCAA Quarterfinal match with his career-best 17 kills.
