St. John Fisher Posts a Perfect E8 Regular Season, Earns Top Seed in Upcoming Women's Lacrosse Championship
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
St. John Fisher posted a perfect 8-0 mark in Empire 8 Conference Women's Lacrosse regular season play, and has earned the right to host the upcoming conference tournament. The 2019 Empire 8 Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship will take place next Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5 on the campus of Fisher.
CLOSER LOOK
Top-seeded Fisher finished the regular season with a record of 16-1 overall, including their perfect 8-0 mark in E8 league play. After opening the season 1-1, the Cardinals have won 15 straight heading into the E8 Tournament next weekend. Fisher will take on crosstown rival Saturday afternoon in one Semifinal game. Nazareth (6-2 in E8 play) earned the No. 4 seed in this year's championship field.
Utica (6-2) and Stevens (6-2) will square off in another Semifinal game Saturday afternoon.
The winner of this weekend's tournament will earn the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament and advance to the 2019 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
