What Have You Done During the COVID-19 Pandemic to Stay Active and What Are Some Positive Effects of the Pandemic You Have Experienced?

Some of the things I have done to stay active during the COVID-19 pandemic include going on runs with my dog, doing workouts with my sister/roommates and going on hikes with my family. Some of the positive effects of the pandemic that I have experienced included my sister’s ability to have a private wedding over the summer, the financial help from my college, and the opportunity to pay more attention to my mental health.

What Role Has Softball Played in your Personal Development?
Playing softball has taught me about time management, self discipline, and cohesion. Softball has helped me manage my time and balance my schedule, to be a coachable and competitive player, and to be a good teammate.

At what age did you start competing in softball and what made you stay with it? Did you play any other sports growing up?
I started playing Tee-Ball when I was 8 years old, and my sister encouraged me to always push myself and keep getting better. I played a little volleyball in high school as well.

Any Superstitions When It Comes to Pregame Rituals/Training?

I have had the same glove since middle school and although it has small holes and tears, I will not get a new one.

Why Did You Decide to Attend Keuka?
I did an overnight with some really awesome girls on the team and saw how rewarding it was to be part of such a close-knit team.

How has Playing Collegiately Prepared You For Life After College?
Playing collegiately has shown me that some people are talented, while some people work hard. Not many people are both. The people you want in your life are the ones who have talent because they work hard.

Favorite Athletic Memory from Your Time in College:
When my roommate who is also our pitcher is on the mound and I’m in the batter’s box and she says to me, “I’m going to throw a change-up,” and I still don’t hit it. Sorry coach, but I still can’t hit a change-up.

Advice to Younger Student-Athletes on Why You Chose to Play a Collegiate Sport and Why Playing A Sport is So Important/Beneficial?
I chose to play a collegiate sport because I love the game, and I never want to give up on the game I love. If you love the sport you play, working hard doesn’t feel like hard work. Playing a sport is both important and beneficial because you meet some of the best people of your athletic career and you learn more about yourself than you ever knew.
