Megan Flynn (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) of The Sage Colleges’ women’s basketball team added another honor to her growing resume with the release of the 2019-20 Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Team. The team, which is selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
Flynn is enjoying a tremendous season for the Gators, averaging 13.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.2 percent from the floor this season. She is second in the league in free throw percentage and third in rebounding. Flynn has 10 double-doubles this season and on Dec. 7, set the Empire 8 single-game record with 25 rebounds in an 87-84 win over Westfield State. She serves a team captain for the Gators, who are 9-4 in Empire 8 play and have clinched a berth in the 2020 Empire 8 Championship Tournament.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
