Fourteen different Empire 8 student-athletes from six institutions were named 2019 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Scholars of Distinction recipients on Wednesday, March 25.
The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year. The NHFCA is proud to announce that 321 student-athletes earned the prestigious academic honor.
The Sage Colleges led all Empire 8 institutions with five Scholars of Distinction. Elmira was next with three, while Houghton and St. John Fisher both had two. Hartwick and Nazareth each had one selection.
