St. John Fisher College assistant men's basketball coach Dylan Seikel was recognized on a national scale on Tuesday as the National Association of Basketball Coaches named him to its Under Armour 30 Under 30 Team.

The award, which includes coaches from across all three Divisions, recognizes the sport's most outstanding coaches who are all under the age of 30.

With Seikel on the bench, the Cardinals have continued to climb on the national stage. Since joining the team prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, Fisher has won 37 games and qualified for back-to-back Empire 8 Championships.

Last season, Fisher boasted the conference's Player of the Year in Ryan Henderson and fought its way to the Empire 8 Championship after dispatching of Nazareth College in the semifinal round.

This year, the Cardinals, who once again featured the conference's top player in Sammy Robinson, continued to excel as head coach Mike Grosodonia and Seikel led Fisher to a share of the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship.  After defeating Utica College in their opening round matchup, Fisher would overcome a 20-point deficit against top-seeded Nazareth to claim its ninth Empire 8 title and its 17th berth into the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

Since his arrival on campus, Seikel was instrumental in helping Grosodonia implement an offensive scheme that has averaged over 83.0 points per game.  Fisher has also shown its ability on the defensive end of the court as it allowed just 74.6 points to its opposition this season.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, Mo., the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas.  Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game.  The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.  All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.  The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education.  Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at nabc.com.
