The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently announced its 2020 All-American Athlete Awards. Nominated by Hartwick Strength and Conditioning Coach Andrew Parker, senior student-athletes Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) and Mike Majchrzak (Plantsville, CT/Southington) were recognized with the honor for their athletic accomplishments and dedication to strength and conditioning.

Robataille was named to the Empire 8 Conference Second Team for the second time in her career last fall. She was a United Soccer Coaches and Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week, named Team Most Valuable Player, and received the Hartwick Margaret Lunn Memorial Award. Her 12 shutouts last fall ranked sixth in the nation and she led the league in goals against average (0.26) and shutouts per game (.857). Robataille closed out her career with 29 shutouts in just three seasons, tied for second on the program's all-time list.

"Cass is one of the hardest working female athletes that I have had the pleasure of being able to work with," said Parker. "In the year that I have been at Hartwick, her enthusiasm for training, passion for bettering not only herself, but her team as well, and intent she brought to every session models what the development process is all about. I truly wish Cass the best and know she will be successful in all of her future endeavors."

Majchrzak scored a pair of goals with one ground ball against Oswego State in what turned out to be a shortened 2020 spring season. In his junior campaign, he found the net twice and dished out an assist in the league semifinals to earn a spot on the Empire 8 Conference All-Championship Team. He finished up his career at 'Wick with 27 goals, 14 assists, and 21 ground balls.

"Shack has grown exponentially from a physical standpoint in the past year I have had the pleasure to work with him," stated Parker. "From team training sessions, to conditioning, and additional work that is put in on a weekly basis, Shack has gone above and beyond what is asked of him from a development standpoint. What is more impressive is the leadership qualities he has developed in the time working with him, and now focuses not only on himself in the weight room, but pushes everyone on the lacrosse team to be the best they can be during each and every session. It has been a pleasure to see Mike grow, and I look forward to seeing him become a successful young man."
