Junior forward Daniel Cook of the St. John Fisher College men’s basketball team was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Cook broke two long-standing St. John Fisher program records last week, while leading the Cardinals to a 107-98 win over visiting Buffalo State on Tuesday. Cook broke a 20-year record after scoring a career-high 47 points as he went 17-for-23 from the field. His 17 field goals also broke a St. John Fisher record that had stood since 1975. Cook also added 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the victory. Cook’s 47 points were just two shy of the Empire 8 record for points in a game, set in 2015. He was also named the Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 29.

A native of Honeoye Falls, NY, Cook, the reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year, leads the league in scoring and rebounding, averaging 22.0 points and 11.0 caroms per game through six contests this season. He is also second in the league, averaging 2.3 steals per game, fifth in field goal percentage (.560) and seventh in blocks per game (1.2).

Cook is the first student-athlete from the Empire 8 to earn D3hoops.com Team of the Week accolades this season.
