Rollins Earns Fourth Straight Individual Accolade, as Empire 8 Announces 2021 Men’s Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Awards

St. John Fisher College senior standout Kyle Rollins garnered his fourth straight individual honor, as the Empire 8 Conference announced its 2021 Men’s Indoor Track and Field All-Conference awards on Thursday, March 25. The awards were voted on by the league's head coaches at the Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championship meet, held at Nazareth College on March 20.
 
Rollins won his third straight Empire 8 Indoor Field Athlete of the Meet honor, winning all three jump events in leading the Cardinals to their second straight league title on March 20. Rollins began the day by winning his second long jump title with a leap of 6.76 meters. He then secured his third triple jump championship in four seasons with a jump of 13.82 meters and closed out the meet by winning his fourth consecutive E8 high jump title, clearing 1.86 meters. Rollins also finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.39 seconds, which is among the fastest in Division III this season.
 
The defending outdoor national champion in the high jump, Rollins placed fourth in the high jump at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship and was runner-up last year. Overall, Rollins is a four-time All-American in the event. He was also the 2018 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year.
 
Stokoe was named Empire 8 Championship Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 800-meters, mile run and 3,000-meters in leading the Cardinals to their second straight team title on March 20. Stokoe opened the day by using a late burst to win the mile by 13 one-hundredths of a second in a time of 4:28.39. Stokoe used a strong late kick to earn a win in the 800-meters for the second straight season by just under a second in 2:02.02 and came back moments later to once again rally over the final 100-meters to win the 3,000-meters in a time of 9:05.73.
 
Dominic Nova from Russell Sage College was named the 2021 Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Meet. Nova earned runner-up honors to Stokoe in both the 800-meters and mile and was eighth in the 3,000-meter run. The impressive first-year student-athlete led late in both the 800- and mile. He recorded a time of 2:02.77 in the 800-meters and 4:28.52 in the mile. Nova was also the Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Week on March 8.
 
St. John Fisher head coach Mike Henchen and his staff were named the 2021 Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year. The Cardinals won their second straight Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championship and fourth in program history. Overall, the Cardinals and had 13 different student-athletes earn All-Conference honors.
 
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2021 Men's Indoor Track & Field Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
 
To be named an E8 All-Conference selection, a student athlete must have finished in the top two of an event at the Conference's Championship Meet. Winners of the event are named to the First Team, while the Second Team is comprised of the runner-up from each event.
