New York State has announced that spectators will be allowed to attend collegiate sporting events
under strict state guidelines, beginning April 2. The Empire 8 is excited to have spectators return under the following guidelines.
Empire 8 institutions may welcome spectators to their campus, under the guidelines below, effective April 2 subject to state, local, and institutional regulations at the institution’s discretion. The Empire 8 supports the right of individual member institutions to make this policy more restrictive, based on their campus COVID policies, local and state health guidelines, and the capacity or configuration of their athletic facilities.
The following spectators may attend contests at Empire 8 institutions:
- Students of the host institution
- Parent(s)/Guardian(s)/Relatives of host institution participating student-athletes
- Faculty/Staff/Administrators of host institution
The cap for each respective spectator population will be determined by the host institution in accordance with all state and county guidelines. No other spectators will be allowed at this time.
