Sophomore Kaitlyn Walker of the St. John Fisher College women's basketball team was one of just five players from the combined Northeast/East Regions to be named First-Team All-Region as announced by D3hoops.com on Wednesday following a standout season on the hardwood for the Cardinals.
Walker, who was named First-Team All-Conference by the Empire 8 earlier this month, led Fisher and ranked fifth in the conference in scoring at 12.4 points per game. Walker, who was named the Empire 8 Player of the Week once this year, was a rebounding machine over 12 games as the Camillus native finished the season with a team-leading 9.0 boards on average.
Walker, who owned three double-doubles during the campaign, ranked second in the Empire 8 in field goal percentage after converting nearly 60 percent of her attempts.
Fisher concluded the 2020-21 season at 9-3 overall including a 6-1 mark against Empire 8 opponents. The Cardinals earned the second seed in the Empire 8 Championship and advanced to the conference title game for the fourth consecutive year.
