After being named First-Team All-Region by D3hoops.com last week, St. John Fisher College sophomore Kaitlyn Walker continued to be recognized following her breakout season on the hardwood as the forward was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Walker, who became the 43rd All-America recipient in program history and the first since 2008, led Fisher and ranked fifth in the conference in scoring at 12.4 points per game. Walker, who was named First-Team All-Conference by the Empire 8 earlier this month, was a force on the glass for the Cardinals over 12 games as the Camillus native finished the season with a team-leading 9.0 boards on average.
Walker, who owned three double-doubles during the campaign, ranked second in the Empire 8 in field goal percentage after converting nearly 60 percent of her attempts.
Fisher concluded the 2020-21 season at 9-3 overall including a 6-1 mark against Empire 8 opponents. The Cardinals earned the second seed in the Empire 8 Championship and advanced to the conference title game for the fourth consecutive year.
