Nazareth Women's Tennis to Face Endicott College in NCAA Tournament

The Nazareth College Women's Tennis team found out Monday who it would face and when for the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament as the Golden Flyers will meet Endicott College Friday, May 14. The tournament begins with matches scheduled for Thursday. Friday's match time is TBA.

Nazareth (8-0) will take on Endicott (9-0) in the lone first round match at the Johns Hopkins University site. The winner will face Tufts (6-1) Saturday. The other side of the bracket in Baltimore features Johns Hopkins (8-0) and Cairn (5-1) in a Saturday match. The winners of those matches will play each other Sunday for a chance to advance to the final eight teams in the bracket.

Endicott won the Commonwealth Coast Conference title with 5-1 wins over Gordon College and Nichols College after winning five conference regular season matches against Wentworth and Curry by 9-0 scores.

Nazareth won the Empire 8 title to earn the automatic bid after defeating Houghton 8-1 in the semifinal and St. John Fisher 6-3 in the championship.

The Golden Flyers are led by freshman Aliya Guzman and graduate student Brooke Murphy. Guzman was 8-0 at No. 1 singles while Murphy was 7-1 in the No. 2 position. The two combined for a perfect 8-0 record at No. 1 doubles.
