Utica College Athletic Director Dave Fontaine announced the hiring of
Dan Senif as the new Head Athletic Trainer on Friday. Senif will be in charge of all administrative duties for the training department and oversee all 26 of Utica's varsity teams, while serving as the primary athletic trainer for the men's hockey team.
"We are very excited to have Dan join our staff as head athletic trainer," said Fontaine. "Dan has worked with a number of Division I programs and has experience with a variety of sports so I am confident he will be a great fit to guide athletic training efforts for our 26 intercollegiate teams at UC."
Senif has spent the last five years at Division I Colgate University, where he worked with the Raiders men's hockey, men's and women's rowing, women's lacrosse, and women's soccer teams. Prior to that, he had a stint at Stanford University where he was an athletic trainer with the Rose Bowl Champion Stanford University football team as well as the Cardinal men's volleyball team.
Senif has also worked at Temple University where he was involved with the field hockey, men's gymnastics, men's and women's tennis, and the cheer and dance teams. He also has experience with the USA field hockey working with their High-Performance program.
During his undergrad, Senif worked with both the Castleton University and Green Mountain College athletic training departments. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Castleton in 2013, where he graduated Cum Laude. He was also a four-year member of the Spartan football team. Senif earned his Masters of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from Temple University.
Originally from Cooperstown, NY, Senif currently resides in Hamilton, NY with his wife Cassie and their daughter Dylan.
