Graduate student Justin Graham of the St. John Fisher College baseball team and senior Emily Trotman of the St. John Fisher softball team were named 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-America team. It is the fifth consecutive year that a St. John Fisher College student-athlete has earned Academic All-America accolades.

Now a two-time Academic All-America selection, Graham joins a lengthy list of baseball players to have been recognized by COSIDA for their joint work inside the classroom and on the field of play.  He joins Erik Morrell (1992), Rafael Vidal (1993, 1994), Andy Campbell (2006), Steve Karnyski (2011, 2012), Nick Flemister (2014), Thomas Pasquale (2020) and Allen Murphy (2019, 2020).  Trotman is the first player from Fisher's nationally-ranked softball program to be included among the nation's elite student-athletes.  In all, Fisher has now garnered 31 Academic All-America honorees – by far the most among active Empire 8 institutions.

Overall, 110 student-athletes from Empire 8 institutions and league sponsored sports have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors since 1999.

A graduate student pursing a master's degree in Management, Graham's name appears throughout the Cardinals' record book. Following the conclusion of his fifth year in Cardinal and Gold, Graham is the program's all-time leader in hits with 267 and runs scored with 201. The middle infielder is also second-overall with 139 runs batted in, third all-time in doubles with 53, and is tied for fifth in team history with 13 career triples and 49 stolen bases.

The Orlando native, who is just the eighth player in Fisher's history to earn multiple Academic All-America awards, earned his fair share of recognition this year.  After starting 37 games in the six hole, Graham tallied 68 base hits including 14 doubles, a team-leading six triples, five home runs and 49 RBI. He racked up 17 walks overall and swiped a team-high 15 bases en route to being named an All-American by both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Trotman was named a First-Team Academic All-American after maintaining a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average throughout her career. In June, Trotman was named the Empire 8 Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year and the Empire 8 Woman of the Year following a brilliant 2021 season.

A Marketing major, Trotman started all 38 games for Fisher this year and went on to be voted as the Empire 8 Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference.  She was also tabbed First-Team All-Region for her on-field actions.

Her expertise on both sides of the ball wrote the story of her career, as she was one of the most productive players in team history despite missing nearly an entire season due to COVID-19.  Over 140 career games, Trotman accounted for 150 hits, 30 doubles, one triple, 15 home runs, 80 RBI and a .378 career batting average. In the circle, Trotman went 43-18 with 39 complete games and a 2.68 ERA over 381.1 career innings.

At the conclusion of her senior season, she was named the program's first National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American since Lindsey Thayer in 2018. The East Amherst native posted career highs across the board and led the squad with a .445 batting average and 57 base hits including 15 doubles, eight home runs, 33 RBI and a .750 slugging percentage. She also posted a 15-3 overall record in the circle and pitched to a 1.55 earned run average over 108.2 innings. She threw her second-career no-hitter against Elmira College on May 1st and had six outings with fewer than two hits in total.
