KEUKA PARK, NY - The Utica College field hockey team rattled off a third consecutive win on Friday. After host Keuka tied the contest 1-1 early in the second quarter, the Pioneers scored five of the next six goals to pull away from the Wolves in a 6-2 rout in an Empire 8 contest in Keuka Park, NY.

The Pioneers improve to 3-3, all the while going to 2-0 in the Empire 8 conference.

Forward Sabrina Whitehouse led an explosive offensive effort with a brilliant performance. She led the Pioneers with four goals and an assist, in the process progressing to 74 career points and 26 career goals. She moved past Colleen Dowling into eighth place in career points on the program's all-time list, and past Laurie Calvasina and Alyssa Hohman to take the program's seventh spot in career goals all-time.

Shannon Jedreicich had a goal and an assist, while Mackenzie Mix tacked on her first collegiate goal. Sydney Scaccia had two assists. Emily Frank and Alyssa Pisano each had an assist, with Frank picking up the first point of her career.

Megan Chamberlain made two saves in goal for Utica.

Utica out-shot the Wolves 26-7, and held a 16-4 advantage on goal. Penalty corners were equal at six apiece.

Utica got on the board with just under five minutes to go in the first quarter when Jedreicich scored in a third straight contest. She tapped the ball inside the left post on a pass from Sydney Scaccia for a 1-0 lead.

Keuka's Alyssa Muszak tied up the scoring with a breakaway goal early in the second quarter. Although things were looking more promising for the hosts at that point, the Pioneers put the hammer down to take a 3-1 halftime lead. Whitehouse buried a centering feed from Scaccia with under five minutes remaining in the half, and then added another score off an assist from Jedreicich for a two goal lead at the break.

Keuka's Skylar Gilmore scored her third goal of the season to pull the Wolves back within a goal, but the Pioneers had another loud answer to the home side with a three-goal fourth quarter to secure the win. Mix scored the first goal of her career to start the frame, and Whitehouse scored her third and fourth goals to further ice the match as the Pioneers cruised to the conference win.

Utica returns home to kick off a three-match homestand on Tuesday, September 21st as it hosts St. Lawrence. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
