Keuka Volleyball Sweeps Day Two Action to Wrap Up Keuka College Invitational

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Volleyball team opened up day two of the Keuka College Invitational with two wins over Mt. St. Mary College and Wells College. Keuka (3-2) won the opening game going four sets against Mt. St. Mary College 3-1. The Wolves continued to push through with a sweep to Wells College 3-0.

Keuka College 3 vs. Mt. St. Mary 1- 25-12, 17-25, 25-23, 25-19

The Wolves would come out to a hot start in set one as the Green and Gold went on a five point run making the score 6-1. The Wolves would pull ahead again only allowing Mt. St. Mary to have five points to the Wolves 17. Mt. St. Mary would try to come back but the Wolves lead was too far gone as they took set one 25-12.

Set two started out as a bath and forth battle but Mt. St. Mary would pull ahead to a 21-11 lead. The Wolves started to battle back going on a five point run to shorten the lead 21-17. Mt. St. Mary would finish the set winning 25-17.

Set three was back and forth as the Wolves would go up two points Mt. St. Mary would answer back and tie it. The Wolves got the last would pull ahead with 10 kills in the set and winning 25-23.

Set four would start with Mt. St. Mary on top with a five point run to go up 12-8. The Wolves battled back going back and forth to tie the game at 14. The Wolves would add four points to their lead. The would finish the game 25-19.

Lead Wolves: Tionna Moss would have 12 kills in the game and teammate Lillian Mueller would have 11 kills for the Wolves.

Kings College 3 vs. Well College 0 – 25-21, 25-18, 25-14

The first set would be a back and forth battle but Keuka the whole set. Keuka would pull ahead at the very end of the set going on a three point run to take the lead 25-21.

In the second set Wells came out ready for some revenge. The Wolves however would go on top with 14 kills in set two and take the win 25-18

The Wolves would go on a 10 point run to start the third period. Lillian Mueller would serve all 10 points. Wells would cause some pressure but the Wolves lead was too far for them to catch as the Wolves won the third set 25-14

Lead Wolf: In game two Tionna Moss would have 13 kills and only three errors for the Wolves.

Up next for the Wolves: The Wolves will travel to York, Pa. to play Penn St-Harrisburg and York College on September, Saturday 11.
