UTICA, NY – Senior Taylor Robey was involved in three first place finishes, sophomore Sydney Federico won both distance races and senior Paige Pasquarella had two top finishes and a second-place finish to lead the Nazareth College Women's Swimming and Diving team to a sweep of the tri-meet with Utica College and Alfred State Saturday afternoon.
Nazareth beat Utica 199-32 and Alfred State 180-55.
Robey was the top swimmer in both the 200 free and the 100 free as she posted winning times of 2:05.30 and 54.21 and started the meet as the anchor leg of the 200 medley relay as she teamed with sophomore Isabella Jaskowski, senior Molly Schoemick and junior Darby McNamara for the win in a time of 1:57.78.
Federico posted a win in the 1000 free in 11:42.93 and then finished first in the 500 with a 5:47.21.
Pasquarella took second in the 50 free early in the meet with a time of 26.29 and then won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.65 and swam the winning anchor leg of the 200 free relay as she competed with freshman Amy Barry, junior Alex Koeferl and McNamara for the win in 1:47.56.
The Nazareth divers were also impressive again as Allie Norwood won the 1-meter event with a 189.30 while sophomore Alexa Rizzo and sophomore Elizabeth Tripp tied for second place with a score of 180.35. In the 3-meter event, Trip was the top scorer with 297.20, Norwood was second at 285.70 and Rizzo was third with a 274.60.
Junior Rebecca Skelley won the 200IM with a time of 2:23.08, sophomore Grace Cioffi was first in the 100 back in 1:05.87 and fellow sophomore Julie Filipski took top honors in the 100 breast with a time of 1:12.55.
Nazareth will compete at the RIT Invitational January 22.
