The Alfred University women's soccer team was one of only 23 collegiate soccer teams soccer teams that were presented with the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award at the Gold level or Platinum level. The Saxons were the lone Empire 8 institution to earn this prestigious honor.
The Saxons went the entire year with only two yellow cards during their 21 games. That put them at the Gold level of the United Soccer Coaches award as they were one of 17 college teams at the designation. Only six collegiate teams had no yellow and no red cards on the season. Between collegiate teams and high school teams, there were 192 teams across the country that earned a level of the award with the maximum amount of cards allowed are 50%.
