ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick celebrated their seniors prior to the start of the 11 AM match and they were rewarded with a 7-2 win over Empire 8 foe, Washington and Jefferson.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Hartwick did not waste time getting on the board on Saturday morning. Sydney Gagnon (Chestertown, N.Y.) notched her 10th goal of the season just 43 seconds into the game. Julie Ruzzi (High Falls, N.Y.) tallied the assist.
- Fellow senior, Leah Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.) scored at the 12:36 mark in the 1st with a direct drive from the top of the circle off of a corner.
- The Presidents answered quickly at the 13:16 mark to cut the Hartwick lead in half.
- However, just as quickly as W&J scored, so did the Hawks as Lex Matarazzo (Commack, N.Y.) found the back of the cage off of a rebound for her first of three goals on the day.
- Despite putting up seven shots in the 2nd quarter, the Hawks were unable to add to their lead and settled for the 3-1 lead going into halftime.
- Just over three minutes into the 3rd quarter, Hartwick extended their lead with a Holly Calore (Rocky Point, N.Y.) tally from a pass from Matarazzo.
- Slightly over two minutes later, Matarazzo struck again with another unassisted goal off of a rebound in front of the cage for her second of the game.
- Tolley rounded out the scoring in the 3rd quarter with a blast inside the left post on a penalty stroke for her second score of the game.
- Washington and Jefferson picked up a goal in the 48th minute, but were not able to swing the momentum back their way.
- Matarazzo ended the scoring with another unassisted goal in the early stages of the 59th minute to complete the hattrick.
- Senior keeper, Madison Maddocks (Garrison, N.Y.) picked up the win while recording seven saves including one on a Presidents' penalty stroke attempt.

The Hawks stay at home for a mid-week non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7 PM against SUNY New Paltz.
