Sydney French is in her fourth season as a member of the St. John Fisher University women's volleyball eam in 2022. She is enjoying an excellent season for the Cardinals, hitting .344 with 176 kills and 41 blocks, while helping lead them to the top-seed in the upcoming Empire 8 ChampionshipTournament next week. French has served as captain for the Cardinals during the last two seasons ans has helped the team win three straight Empire 8 Championships and earn two NCAA Championship Tournament berths.

A native of Marcellus, NY, French is a biology major and carries a 3.91 grade-point average. She is a four-time Empire 8 President's List selection for academic excellence. French has appeared in 80 career matches and has 396 kills, while hitting .301 to go along with 93 blocks.

Advice for Younger Teammates/Student-Athletes and Future Captains: Never ask someone to do something you wouldn’t do yourself!
