MORRISVILLE, NY – The SUNY Morrisville football team finished the regular season Saturday with a convincing win over visiting Hartwick College, upping their record to 7-3 overall, and learned Monday they will get one more opportunity in the 2022 campaign to take the field, earning a post-season bid to the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl Game.
The Mustangs will head to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy Saturday, November 19 at noon at the East Campus Stadium.
RPI finished the regular season with a 7-3 overall record and are making a school record eighth straight post-season appearance.
Morrisville, under direction of head coach Ed Raby, are making their fourth appearance in the post-season in program history and the third with Raby on the Mustang sidelines.
"We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to continue our season in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl," Raby stated.
"Our team did a great job all season, and it just means a lot to give our seniors and team a chance to win a championship.
"RPI is one of the top programs in the country. We have a ton of respect for them; they play a physical and fundamentally sound brand of football.
"It will be a great challenge for us. Look forward to competing against a fellow upstate NY football program."
