WEBSTER, NY – Three-time defending champion Nazareth College is off to a fine start after day one of the 2022 Empire 8 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, held in conjunction with the Allegheny Empire Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center on Wednesday, February 16.
The Golden Flyers have 134 team points to pace the field ahead of both Alfred University and Hartwick College, who both have 86 team points, respectively. Utica College is fourth overall with 30 points.
Nazareth’s 200-yard medley relay team of Rebecca Skelley, Abbie Santos, Paige Pasquarella, Taylor Robey cruised to a nearly five-second advantage in a time of 1:47.67. Hartwick’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Bree Dy, Ellie Baird, Joelle Ocheltree, Abby Miller finished nearly three seconds up on Nazareth, hitting the wall in 7:58.99.
