Nazareth Holds Commanding Lead Day Three of 2022 Empire 8 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships

WEBSTER, NY – Nazareth College won five of six events on day three of the 2022 Empire 8 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, held in conjunction with the Allegheny Empire Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center on Friday, February 18.
 
The three-time defending champion Golden Flyers extended their team to nearly 500 points after day three with 940.5 points. Hartwick is second with 458.5 points, while Alfred University is third with 359 points. Utica College is fourth overall with 162.5 points.
 
Abbie Santos won a pair of individual events on Friday, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 58.22 seconds and 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.56. Santos was also part of the victorious 400-yard medley relay team, teaming with Paige Pasquarella, Rebecca Skelley and Taylor Robey to earn an eight second win in 4:01.57.  
 
Robey continued her winning ways in the 200-yard freestyle by nearly two seconds over teammate Julie Filipski in a time of 1:55.02.
 
Nazareth’s Grace Cioffi won her first E8 title in the 400-yard medley relay, hitting the wall first in a time of 4:48.09.
 
Hartwick’s Bree Dy earned a close victory in the 100-yard backstroke to claim her first league title in a time of 1:00.62.
