INDIANAPOLIS -- Graduate student Taylor Robey closed out her honor-laden swimming career Saturday by placing 20th in the 100-yard freestyle race on the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Robey swam in the last of nine heats and posted a time of :51.36 seconds, a few ticks shy of her school-record seed time of :50.54. Saturday's result marks the end of Robey's record-breaking run, which included a fifth-place finish and All-American honors in the 50-yard freestyle (:22.96) earlier in the week. She also finished 38th in the 200-yard freestyle on Thursday.
Senior Allie Norwood also wrapped her spectacular diving career with a 15th-place finish in the 3-meter diving competition. She scored 423.40 in the preliminaries to advance to the consolation finals and scored 419.10 there. She finished eighth and was recognized as an All-American in the 1-meter diving competition on Thursday.
Between the success of Norwood and Robey, Nazareth managed to score 27 team points and finished in 23rd place in the team standings.
