Jadyn Abrams and Sydney Przygoda Named 2021-22 WBCA Honorable Mention All-Americans

Empire 8 women’s basketball standouts Jadyn Abrams of Nazareth College and Sydney Przygoda of Utica University were named 2021-22 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Coaches’ Honorable Mention All-Americans.
 
Abrams, a native of Bath, NY, garnered her second straight Empire 8 Player of the Year accolade in 2021-22. The senior guard/forward, who was previously a 2018-19 and 2019-20 All-Empire 8 second team selection and 2021 first team pick, enjoyed another strong season for the Golden Flyers, averaging a league-best 16.2 points per game to go along with 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She led the league in 3-point shooting, while converting a league-best 89.4 percent of her attempts from the foul line and scored in doubles figures 23 times this season. In addition, Abrams earned 2021-22 D3hoops.com All-Region accolades and was named to the Empire 8 Women’s Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team for the second straight season. Abrams has 1,340 career points and is an 85 percent shooter from the foul line in four seasons with the Golden Flyers.

Przygoda earned her second All-Empire 8 first team honor in 2021-22. Przygoda, a 2019-20 first team pick, finished second in the league in scoring, averaging 15.4 points and led the league in rebounding with 10.5 caroms per contest. She helped lead the Pioneers to a program-record 12-0 start in 2021-22. A native of Freehold, NJ, Przygoda, who also garnered All-Empire 8 second team accolades in 2018-19, has scored 1,140 points in three seasons of play, averaging 16.1 points per game to go along with 11.2 rebounds per game (792 total rebounds). She is a career 53.2 percent shooter from the floor.
