Empire 8 Well Represented as 2021-22 USBWA Rochester Area Women’s Basketball Selections are Announced

Six Empire 8 student-athletes were selected to the 2021-22 United States Basketball Writers Association Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams. The team was selected by The Rochester Chapter of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. St. John Fisher’s Sydney Tomasso was named the Freshman of the Year, while Melissa Kuberka was named Coach of the Year.
 
Jadyn Abrams of Nazareth College, Claire Kruszka and Kaitlyn Walker of St. John Fisher were named to the USBWA Rochester Area First Team, while Amelia Poole of Keuka College, Sabrina Wolfe of Nazareth and Tomasso were Honorable Mention selections.
 
Student-athletes were selected from the nine Rochester area institutions, Keuka, Nazareth and St. John Fisher from the Empire 8, Roberts Wesleyan College, University of Rochester, RIT, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo and William Smith College.
