PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher College Athletics has always emphasized the importance of giving back to the community.  The Cardinals routinely volunteer their time for numerous events and causes throughout the year.  Through events such as the Giant Read, Special Olympics, Out of Darkness Walk, Food Drives and more, Fisher's student-athletes have learned that philanthropy is not only rewarding, but also an important component to improving the lives of others.

Recently, as part of a service mission with campus ministry, several members of the Cardinals' track and field team spent their spring break volunteering in Houston, Texas.  Matt Carr, Angelea Collins, Alivia Collins, Jenna Costello, Ryan Allen, Kevin Havens, Demeter Burns, Lauren Almy, Jennah Ferrari, Julianne Tenaglia and Josiah Bowers took part in several initiatives including serving food to underprivileged communities, working at a food bank and helping with some construction-related needs at a retreat center.
