Junior second baseman Noah Campanelli of the St. John Fisher College baseball team was named a 2022 Second-Team All-American by D3baseball.com earlier this week.
Campanelli, who was named First-Team All-Region by both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association on Tuesday, became the 12th player in Fisher's storied history to be named the Empire 8 Player of the Year after the junior led the Cardinals' high-powered offense after batting .405 over 47 games played. A First-Team All-Conference selection, Campanelli fell one hit shy of matching a single season program record after accounting for 75 base knocks in all including 15 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 43 runs batted in.
An Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America, Campanelli authored 21 multi-hit games during the 2022 season including four games with four hits while his .519 on-base percentage was the highest among his teammates. He earned the 36th All-America nod in program history.
Campanelli, a native of Pittsford, NY, who has garnered an All-Region selection in each of the last two seasons, slugged .584 overall and finished the season with a .967 fielding percentage. Campanelli was also a threat on the bases after drawing 39 walks and registering a career-high 23 bases to go along with 63 runs scored.
