Hartwick standout Braelyn Hornick named Game Changer/AVCA National Division III Women’s VB Player of the Week

Hartwick College sophomore setter Braelyn Hornick was named the GameChanger/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Division III Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday, September 27 for games played Sept. 19-25, 2022.

Hornick, who was named the Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday, orchestrated an offense that went perfect on the week registering a non-conference win against SUNY Cobleskill, and two E8 wins over Medaille and Houghton. On Wednesday against Cobleskill, she put up 31 assists and picked up two aces. Over the weekend, she averaged 12 assists per set. In total against Medaille and Houghton, she posted 99 assists, 26 digs, and 12 kills, while hitting .556.

Hartwick (10-3, 2-0 Empire 8) is back in action this weekend with a pair of Empire 8 contests at Nazareth College on Friday and St. John Fisher College Saturday.
