Both St. John Fisher University lacrosse programs are nationally ranked in their respective 2023 Division III preseason polls. The men are ranked No. 12 in the preseason Division III Inside Lacrosse and No. 14 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) preseason polls, while the women are receiving votes in the preseason Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll.
The St. John Fisher men are looking to win its fourth straight Empire 8 Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fourth straight year in 2023. Last season, the Cardinals finished 16-3 overall and were ranked as high as fourth in the USILA/Dynamic National poll. St. John Fisher is 59-20 under head coach Dave Dobbins, who took over in 2018.
St. John Fisher’s women’s program is looking for its 11th straight Empire 8 title in 2023. The Cardinals advanced to the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament and finished unbeaten in E8 play. St. John Fisher enters the season riding a 27-game regular season winning streak in league play and is 158-45 overall since Linda Michele took over as head coach prior to the start of the 2012 season. The Cardinals are just one season removed from advancing to the NCAA National Semifinals in 2021. Overall, St. John Fisher has won 12 Empire 8 titles.
