KEUKA PARK, NY — For the third time this season, the Keuka College Women's Volleyball team fell behind 2-0 only to rally to win three straight to take the match in five sets. The big comeback win gave the Wolves a 3-2 Empire 8 victory over Alfred University on Friday night.
It was Senior Night for Keuka College (16-4, 4-1 Empire 8), and the class of 2024 delivered. Dayna Edholm led the team with 13 kills, and fellow seniors Megan McCann and Camey Knapp each added 10 kills. Kendra Waltz and Caitlynne Marczyk each had three aces. Casey Hunziker posted 39 assists and Emma Sipos led with 19 digs.
Keuka College 3 vs. Alfred University 2 – 20-25, 14-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-6
Alfred University led throughout the opening two sets on Friday to build a 2-0 lead in the match.
Keuka College's first lead in any set came at 3-2 in the third. The teams traded runs to keep the set close. The Wolves had the lead in the third, but multiple times Alfred cut the margin to one. The Green and Gold closed out the final three points of the third to win the set 25-21 and extend the match.
The Saxons looked to finish it in the fourth as they jumped out to a 9-4 lead over the Wolves. Keuka battled back and an ace by Caitlynne Marczyk tied the set at 18-18. The Wolves took a 21-19 lead following a Jessica Throop ace, but Alfred responded with three straight to take the lead 22-21. The Saxons would eventually serve for the match but a handling error tied it at 24-24. A kill by Megan McCann gave the Wolves set point and an error by the Saxons swung the fourth 26-24 in favor of the Wolves, forcing a fifth and final set.
Keuka College had all the momentum as it was an electric atmosphere inside the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. The Wolves took a big lead over the Saxons with an ace by Casey Hunziker forcing the change-over at 8-2. The match was in the hands of the Wolves. Keuka got it to match point and an error by Alfred ended the third 15-6 as Keuka College earned the conference victory in five.

- Keuka College improves to 29-27 all-time against Alfred University. The Wolves are 15-6 against the Saxons in Keuka Park and 5-1 in five-set matches.
- The 56 meetings between the two schools makes Alfred University the most-played opponent of all time for the Keuka College Women's Volleyball team

- In just her second season, Head Coach Rachel Fiser moves to fifth on the career wins list at Keuka College with 25
- Dayna Edholm moves into a tie for eighth for kills in a season in the Keuka College record books
- Casey Hunziker hit a pair of aces for the Wolves. She now has 128 in her career, tenth-most in program history
- Jessica Throop had a pair of aces in the win as the sophomore surpassed 50 for her career
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will look to close out their regular season home schedule strong on Saturday as Keuka College hosts Elmira College at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. The Wolves snapped a 28-match losing streak to Elmira College with a five-set victory in Elmira last season. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
