The SUNY Brockport football team earned its seventh consecutive postseason berth Monday as the Golden Eagles were selected to play in the ECAC's Asa. S. Bushnell Bowl Game at host Carnegie Mellon on November 18 at 5 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Asa S. Bushnell Bowl Game is considered the premier matchup of the four ECAC Bowl Games.
The Golden Eagles finished the regular season with an 8-2 overall record and a 5-1 ledger in the Empire 8 Conference (second place). Carnegie Mellon finished with a 9-1 record and placed second in the President's Athletic Conference.
Brockport travels to Pittsburgh with one of the top defenses in the country and capped the regular season ranked second nationally in scoring defense, allowing an average of just 193.3 total yards per contest. Brockport finished the regular season ranked fourth nationally in red zone defense (.933), fifth nationally in passing yards allowed (125.3 per game), and sixth nationally in scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of less than 10 points per game (9.8).
