St. John Fisher's Daniel Cook Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Senior forward Daniel Cook of the St. John Fisher College men’s basketball team was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 21. It is Cook's third D3hoops.com weekly accolade of his collegiate career.
 
Cook, who was also named the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week on Monday, earned Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout Tournament Most Valuable Player honors after leading the Cardinals to wins over RIT on Thursday and University of Rochester on Saturday. In Thursday’s win over RIT, he finished two assists shy of a triple-double, tallying 20 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists. He also added a pair of blocks. On Saturday, Cook poured in 17 points, added 11 boards, two steals and two blocks. For the week, Cook averaged 18.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, while shooting 53.6 percent from the field.

A native of Honeoye Falls, NY, Cook, the three-time reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year, is averaging 16.2 points, 9.0 caroms, 4.0 assists and 1.8 blocks per game through five contests this season, while shooting 56 percent from the floor. He is closing in on 1,500 career points at St. John Fisher and 1,700 in his collegiate career.

Cook is the first student-athlete from the Empire 8 to earn D3hoops.com Team of the Week accolades this season.
