ELMIRA, NY – The Elmira College men's basketball team would find themselves ahead 14-0 through the first six minutes of play, and it proved to be the difference as the Soaring Eagles went on to defeat the visitors from Keuka College by 15 points, 82-67, on Friday evening.
For the Soaring Eagles, its 50.8 percent shooting mark from the floor tied a season-high, when it posted the same average against Hilbert on November 22, 2022, where they shot six more shots than this evening.

Elmira, who held the ten-point advantage in the paint, were able to make the most of their shots from deep, finishing the game 10-of-25 (40.0%), paced by Riley Spencer '26 and Marc Anthony Artuz '24, who each made four from beyond the arc.
Spencer would finish the game as Elmira's leading scorer, notching his third 20-point game in the Soaring Eagles' last five, while Artuz would finish with 18. David Aysho '26 rounded out the Elmira scoring after recording his fourth double-digit scoring game of the season, and his second consecutive after posting 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.
After jumping out to a 14-0 lead, the Wolves would begin to settle but were unable to keep up with the Elmira scoring effort in the first half. At the break, EC led 49-28, for its largest halftime lead of the season to date. Out of the break, the Wolves would take Elmira's 21-point lead down to as little as eight points with 9:20 remaining in regulation, but the Soaring Eagles would quickly increase its margin back to 20 points just six minutes later on its way to victory.
