The Empire 8 announced that 78 student-athletes from its nine member institutions were named to the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. In addition, five seniors or fifth-year student-athletes earned Academic Squad honors for the fourth consecutive season.
Over 1,700 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Empire 8 Champion Hartwick College led the way with 15 honorees, St. John Fisher University was right behind with 14. Nazareth College had 11 student-athletes selected.
The
NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by
OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
