Five Empire 8 student-athletes were selected to the 2021-22 United States Basketball Writers Association Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams. The team was selected by The Rochester Chapter of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Brielle Reidinger of Nazareth College was named the Freshman of the Year.
Reidinger and Jadyn Abrams of Nazareth, along with Claire Kruszka, Sidney Tomasso and Kaitlyn Walker of St. John Fisher were named to the USBWA Rochester Area First Team. Abrams, Kruszka and Walker were repeat selections, while Tomasso was the 2021-22 USBWA Freshman of the Year.
Student-athletes were selected from the nine Rochester area institutions, Keuka, Nazareth and St. John Fisher from the Empire 8, Roberts Wesleyan College, University of Rochester, RIT, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo and William Smith College.
