Nine Empire 8 student-athletes from three institutions earned 2023 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Region honors.
Brenna Johnson and Lea Richard from Nazareth College, Veronica Duell, Ciarra Franz, Michael Kurbs and Samantha Shea from St. John Fisher University, along with Jane Fahy, Laura Meade and Mackenzie Mix from Utica University garnered the prestigious honor.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.
All Empire 8 institutions with the exception of Russell Sage compete in the NIagara region. Russell Sage is part of the Midweast Region.

* Michaela Kurbs, Junior -- Long Jump, 5.66 meters - second
Samantha Shea, Graduate -- 60-Meter Dash, 7.76 seconds - first
* Samantha Shea, Graduate -- 400-Meter Dash, 56.70 seconds - fourth
UTICA UNIVERSITY
Jane Fahy, Senior -- Shot Put, 13.24 meters - third
Laura Meade, Senior -- Triple Jump, 11.29 meters - third
^ Mackenzie Mix, Sophomore -- 200-Meters, 25.27 seconds - fourth
* Qualified for 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the event
^ Mix qualified in the 400-meter dash and was sixth regionally in the event
