St. John Fisher University standouts Noah Campanelli and Ben Lavery were named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Wednesday, April 26. Campanelli earned his second honor of the 2023 season.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its twelfth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the tenth Team of the Week of the 2023 season.
Campanelli, a second baseman batted .706 in four wins for St. John Fisher, with 12 hits in 17 at-bats to go along with eight runs scored, five stolen bases, four doubles, a home run and four RBI. He scored two runs in each of the four games and had a pair of four-hit games, while drawing a pair of walks and slugging 1.118. Campanelli also set St. John Fisher’s single-season record for stolen bases with 33 and is batting .460 on the season.
Lavery, an outfielder, batted .500 in the four-game week for the Cardinals, going 7-for-14 with three home runs and nine runs batted in. He was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a win over RIT on April 19 and kicked off a weekend series against E8 foe Houghton by clubbing two home runs and driving in five in a win on April 21. Lavery is hitting .319 with 10 homers and 29 RBI this season.
