ALFRED, NY – Graduate student Logan Blankenberg led all scorers with 19 points on 8-for-16 from the floor to help Nazareth to a 76-58 victory at Alfred on Saturday. Nazareth has won three straight and is now 7-5 overall, 4-0 in conference play, while Alfred drops to 4-9 overall and 1-3 in Empire 8 play.
Luke Insley topped double-digit assists for the second time this season, setting a career-high with 11.
Nazareth led 45-35 at the break.
The Golden Flyers led by double digits for most of the second half aside from a three-minute spurt early in the second half.
With the lead cut to seven points, Blankenberg scored four-straight points to give the visitors an 11-point lead. Nazareth led by double figures the rest of the way.
Tyler Putney scored in double figures for the third-straight game, scoring his Nazareth career-high with 17 points.
Sophomore Jaylen Savage contributed 14 points on 6-for-13. Jordan Haggard notched nine points.
Nazareth returns home on Tuesday, hosting Utica at 5:30 p.m. Utica (2-0) is one of four teams that remain unbeaten in conference play, including St. John Fisher (4-0) and Keuka (3-0).
