MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville led 24-0 at the end of the half and tacked on two more touchdown scores in the third to topple visiting Hilbert College 38-8 in Empire 8 football action on Drake Field in Morrisville Saturday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Host SUNY Morrisville football picked up a convincing 38-8 league win Saturday afternoon as they toppled the visiting Hilbert College Hawks in Empire 8 action on Drake Field in Morrisville.
- The Mustangs, who possessed the ball for a mere 19 minutes of the contest, capitalized off Hilbert miscues throughout the contest en route to the win.
- Morrisville collected 268-yards total offense on the day, 159 in the running game, including a 61-net yard outing for Isaac Sylvain (Schenectady, N.Y.).
- Quamel Jarvis (Rochester, N.Y.) added another 41-yards for Morrisville, while collecting 27-yards in the receiving game.
- Christopher Stancarone (Levittown, N.Y.) connected on 7-of-12 pass attempts for 103 yards and three touchdown scores, hitting Joey Chirurgi (Yonkers, N.Y.) twice for a total 39-yards and a score.
- Hilbert was able to generate 206-yards offense on the day, 150 on the ground, despite fumbling three times throughout the afternoon.
- Avante Hicks collected 70 net yards on 19 attempts, with another 55-yards coming off the ball carrying of Clifford Seigler.
- Brody Hopkins added 56-yards passing on four attempts, connecting with Bryce Robinson three times for 46-yards.
- Camerin Camacho (Cape Coral, Fla.) led the Mustangs defensive unit with nine total tackles, with another eight coming from Eric Sparkman (Syracuse, N.Y.).
- Anai Brake (Carteret, N.J.) forced a Hawk fumble, while David Kelley (Macedon, N.Y.), Aaron Greaves (Goshen, N.Y.) and Justin Anderson (Jamaica, N.Y.) each posted a recovery.
- Morrisville opened with a scoring drive, taking up just 3:20 of the clock after receiving the opening kickoff with an 18-yard return by Jashon Thomas (New Windsor, N.Y.) to near mid-field.
- After moving into the red zone, Stancarone connected with Jarvis on the Hilbert nine-yard line, where the senior tight end found the opening into the end zone for the games first score.
- Owen Cole (Maspeth, N.Y.) hit the point after to give the Mustangs the early 7-0 lead.
- Hilbert had two drives of the opening quarter, but struggled to move the ball as the hosts carried the 7-0 lead into the second.
- On the first play of the quarter, Brake made contact with Robinson who fumbled the ball into the backfield, where Anderson scooped up the loose ball and returned it 13-yards to the visitors two yard line.
- A quick block on the left saw Stancarone find his way into the endzone for the two possession lead, a drive that took up a mere 23 seconds of the clock.
- Morrisville forced Hilbert to punt on their ensuing drive attempt and extended the lead to 21-0 on just their second play of the drive.
- Stancarone hit Chirurgi over middle in the endzone for the 36-yard scoring pass, competing the two-play drive in 46 seconds.
- A penalty by the Hawks pushed the visitors back on their following possession, and in little time, Morrisville's defense returned the ball to the offensive unit, as Hopkins couldn't control the snap and Kelley fell on the ball at the Hilbert 22-yard line.
- Morrisville settled for a field goal with 5:05 to go, Cole sending the 19-yard attempt through the uprights for the 24-0 host advantage.
- In much similar fashion as the first half, Morrisville's defense proved tough on the Hawks as they forced the third turnover of the contest minutes into the third quarter, capitalizing as Jarvis got the block on the right and outraced the defense 41-yards for the touchdown score and 31-point lead.
- The Mustangs forced the Hawks to a quick three-and-out on the next series, before extending the lead to 38-0 at the 5:27 mark.
- Stancarone found Aidan McDonald (Rochester, N.Y.) over middle for the untouched 12-yard scoring pass, completing the Mustangs longest scoring drive of the afternoon in six plays, 51-yards and just 2:40 of time off the clock.
- Hilberts lone score of the day came late in the fourth quarter as Hopkins connected with Jon Whitaker for the 10-yard passing touchdown, marching 94-yards downfield over 18-plays and eating up over 12 minutes off the clock.

- Morrisville will take on St. John Fisher in their final road contest of the season next Saturday, before returning home for the regular season finale against Hartwick on the 16th.
