The Empire 8 announced that 59 student-athletes from its eight member institutions were named to the 2024 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. In addition, six seniors or fifth-year student-athletes earned Academic Squad honors for the fourth consecutive season.
Over 1,783 student-athletes from 154 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2023 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. , St. John Fisher University led the way with 15 honorees, while 2023 Empire 8 Champion Hartwick College was second with 11 honorees. Houghton University had 10 student-athletes selected.
The
NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by
OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
