WEBSTER, NY – Hartwick College holds a slim lead after day one of the 2024 Empire 8 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, held in conjunction with the Allegheny Empire Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center on Wednesday, February 14.
The Hawks have 124 team points to pace the field ahead of both five-time defending champion Nazareth University, who has 116 points and Alfred University, who has 90 points.
Hartwick’s 200-yard medley relay team of Bree Dy, Elaine Chen, Amanda Wilbur, Cate Russo earned the win in a time of 1:50.22. Nazareth’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Julie Filipski, Ally Putnam, Ellen Burroughs, Caroline Coleman hit the wall in a time of 7:54.79.
