Seven from Empire 8 Named to 2023-24 USBWA Rochester Area Women’s Basketball Team

E8 Sweeps Major Honors, as Sidney Tomasso named Player of the Year, Joleen Lusk named Freshman of the Year and Kelly Dunne-Roming Named Coach of the Year

Six Empire 8 student-athletes were selected to the 2023-24 United States Basketball Writers Association Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams. The team was selected by The Rochester Chapter of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Sidney Tomasso of St. John Fisher was named Player of the Year, teammate Joleen Lusk was named the Freshman of the Year and Nazareth University's Kelly Dunne-Romig was named Coach of the Year.

Tomasso and Lusk, along with Claire Kruszka of St. John Fisher in addition to Molly Benetti and Olivia Dobrovosky of Nazareth were named to the USBWA Rochester Area First Team. Sarina McDowell of Nazareth was an honorable mention selection. Kruszka and Tomasso were rhonored for the third straight season.
 
Student-athletes were selected from the nine Rochester area institutions, Keuka, Nazareth and St. John Fisher from the Empire 8, Roberts Wesleyan College, University of Rochester, RIT, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo and William Smith College.
