MIDDLETOWN, CT – The Alfred University women's tennis team (13-3) concluded their season with a 5-0 loss to University of Redlands on Friday afternoon as part of the first round of the NCAA Regional Championship.
"I still can't believe we got to compete in the NCAA Tournament today," Head Coach
Jordan Crouch said. "I'm so proud of our team for all the work they've put in this year, culminating today with a match against one of the best teams in the country. We played some great points and got to learn what the top talent in the country looks like. What a great experience for our team. I already can't wait for next preseason. A special shoutout to Lex, Abby, Anna and Macy for finishing their careers. AU Tennis will forever be indebted to their hard work and dedication. Thank you to Devon, Letti and Erin for coming along with us! Go Saxons!"
Anna Gwozdz (South Wales, NY/Iroquois) and
Macy Youngberg (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) competed well from No. 2 doubles, taking one game. In singles actions, Gwozdz remained competitive from the No. 2 position, while
Alyssa Seegert (Oroville, CA/Las Plumas) made her collegiate debut with Alfred University from the No. 6 position.
