Three Empire 8 soccer programs (two women's teams and one men's team) were named United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winners to recognize exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year.
A total of 405 college teams (168 men, 237 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 102 schools who had both their men’s and women’s programs among the recipients. Houghton University had the highest team grade-point average among all E8 women’s programs (3.66), while Alfred University's women recorded a 3.54 team GPA. The St. John Fisher University men's soccer program garnered a 3.43 GPA to be the lone E8 men’s program honored.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches Services Program with a composite grade-point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2023-24 academic year.
