A total of 67 student-athletes from six Empire 8 institutions were named Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2023-24 season. In addition, Keuka College, St. John Fisher University, Utica University, Elmira College and 2024-25 newcomer SUNY Poly earned Team GPA honors. Keuka had a remarkable 3.822 team GPA, which was the highest in all of Division III.
Just over 8,000 student-athletes were named 2023-24 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. NCAA Division III had 2,285 student-athletes earn a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2022-23.
St. John Fisher led all Empire 8 programs with 19 student-athletes honored, while Elmira had 14 players earn the prestigious academic award and Keuka had 13 student-athletes honored, while Alfred University (9), Utica (9), and SUNY Poly (5) had individual representation.
In addition to Keuka, the 2024 Empire 8 Champion Cardinals of St. John Fisher posted a 3.65 team GPA, which was the 30th best in all of Division III. Utica recorded a team GPA of 3.541, while Elmira recorded a 3.47 GPA and SUNY Poly was right behind at 3.39.
The team rankings and individual honors were submitted by member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories.
