SUNY Brockport Field Hockey to "Turn the Turf Teal" Against Roberts Under the Lights Wednesday

BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport field hockey team will host Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday, September 24 at 7 p.m. for the "Turn the Turf Teal" event for Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
 
Turn the Turf Teal: The Golden Eagles are currently raising money in honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness, with the goal of raising $1,000. Use the link below to help support the cause, with all proceeds going directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.

Last Outing: Brockport impressed in its Empire 8 debut at Elmira, defeating the Soaring Eagles 10-1 on Saturday, September 21.
 
Seven different Golden Eagles would tally a goal or better, with 11 players registering a point or better.
 
Katelynn Banning (W, 1-1) was strong between the pipes, making four saves in 60 minutes of action.
 
Paige Thowe and Autumn Kramer both registered a defensive save in a strong effort.
 
Allison Greene led the way with her first career hat trick on three goals (6 points), with Gianna Salerno creating several plays with three assists on the day.
 
Top to Bottom: Through seven games, the Golden Eagles have showcased a balanced scoring attack with five players averaging a point or better per game. Leading the way is Allison Greene the freshman. She leads the squad in goals (6), assists (5), and points (17). Kelsey Zehr (4G, 2A, 10P), Gianna Salerno (3G, 3A, 9P), Paige Thowe (3G, 1A, 7P), and Samantha Choate (2G, 3A, 7P) have all heavily contributed offensively as well.
 
Stepping Up: Making her first two starts of the season, Katelynn Banning stepped up in a big way for the Golden Eagles the past week. Banning posted a 1-1 record, accumulating 11 saves with just three goals allowed and a strong 1.50 GAA.
 
Scouting Roberts: The Redhawks currently sit at 0-5 to begin the season, most recently falling to Bloomsburg University last Friday, 4-0. Brockport rolled to a 9-0 win in last year's meeting between the two teams.
 
Up Next: The Golden Eagles will host Houghton on Saturday, September 28 at noon.
