The Alfred State College duo of running back Noah Currier and safety Donnell Hall, Utica University tight end Logan Frederick and St. John Fisher University linebacker Jack Tanoory were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Nine Empire 8  student-athletes have earned the prestigious weekly honor in 2025.

Currier, a junior from Oakfield, NY, was named the Empire 8 Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. He led the Pioneers offense as he tallied 292 yards on 35 carriers for three touchdowns in Alfred State’s 41-21 win over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. Currier’s 292 rushing yards is an Empire 8 single-game high and most by a student-athlete in the league since 2017. He scored on a 2-yard run early in the second quarter and then extended Alfred State’s lead to 27-7 with a season-long 85-yard touchdown later in the quarter. Currier scored his third TD of the day on a 34-yard scamper to begin the fourth quarter and give Alfred State a 34-21 lead. It is his second E8 weekly honor of the season.

Currier leads all of Division III, averaging 18.0 points scored per game with 15 total touchdowns (11 rushing, three receiving and one kickoff return). He also leads the nation, averaging 229.8 all purpose yards per game and is in the top-10 nationally with 656 rushing yards through five games.

Frederick, a senior from Little Falls, NY, put together an impressive outing during Saturday's 28-13 defeat at the hands of No. 22 Cortland. The Pioneers' top-tier tight end caught nine passes for 135 yards, with both of those marks registering as game-highs. In addition, Frederick caught the Pioneers' first touchdown of the game, a 17-yard touchdown pass in the heart of the defense. He contributed to many chunk plays, making grabs of 13, 16, 17, 22, and 38 yards.

Frederick is third in the Empire 8, averaging 72.4 yards receiving per game. He has 29 catches for 362 yards and five touchdowns through five games in 2025.

Hall, a junior from Lima, NY, led the Alfred State defense as he tallied two interceptions, returning one of them for a 50-yard pick-6 in a 41-21 win against Morrisville State. He also contributed five tackles, three of them solo. He has 27 total tackles, six pass breakups, and four interceptions through five games in 2025.

Tannory, a sophomore from Canandaigua, NY, led the Cardinals with a career-high 14 tackles, including an impressive 13 solo stops, in St. John Fisher’s 31-24 overtime win over SUNY Brockport in the 20th Camp Good Days and Special Times Courage Bowl on Saturday. Tanoory made the play of the game in the fourth quarter, stripping a Brockport wide receiver of the ball at the one-yard line to prevent a touchdown. The ball bounced through the end zone, resulting in a touchback that allowed Fisher's offense to take over at its 20. The Cardinals drove down the field for a go-ahead field goal. It was St. John Fisher’s first Courage Bowl win since 2016.

He has 40 total tackles in five games this season, including 32 solo stops, four tackles for a loss and one sack.

Four E8 teams are in action on Saturday, Oct. 11, as Utica hosts SUNY Morrisville at noon and Hartwick College hosts St. John Fisher at 3 p.m. Alfred University, Alfred St., SUNY Brockport and SUNY Cortland are on bye this week. Here is the complete 2025 Empire 8 football schedule.
